This is an interesting piece on the subject of the science behind crime and criminals. Its something that not many of us think of at that level, we stop at criminals, bad, lock them up, and throw away the key while we're at it.

Per usual, really exciting stuff that is well explained! This is a wonderful overview of some approaches to criminology. With respect to the current incantation of positivist criminology it is worth keeping in mind that claims of a more scientific criminology have been made before. Phrenology is an instance of this -- there is an interesting book about this that came out recently I think it's called An Organ of Murder.
